--CF Nate McLouth got only his second game off this season. He was given a rest. OF Jason Michaels started in his place.
--OF Jason Michaels continued to shine as a spot starter, going 2-for-5 with two doubles as he subbed for Nate McLouth, who was given the night off. Michaels is 8-for-21 (.381) in his five starts since being acquired from Cleveland in a trade on May 8. --RHP Matt Capps gave up one run in one inning while pitching in a rare non-save situation. The closer did not walk anyone and has issued just one base on balls since giving up two on Opening Night in Atlanta.
--LHP John Grabow worked one scoreless relief inning as he continued to pitch well inside the division. He is 3-0 with a 1.46 ERA in 12 games against National League Central teams.
--LHP Zach Duke will start Friday night at St. Louis in the opener of a four-game series after having his turn in the rotation pushed back a day in an effort to let a callus on his pitching hand heal. Duke is 2-1 in his last four starts and has worked at least six innings in seven of his 10 outings this season.
BY THE NUMBERS: 2 -- Career walk-off hits by LF Jason Bay, and they both came on extra-inning singles in the span of less than 24 hours on May 24 and May 25 against the Chicago Cubs.
