--RHP Franquelis Osoria continues to be an innings-eater out of the bullpen as he pitched a career high 4 1/3 innings and gave up one run to end his string of six consecutive scoreless appearances. Osoria leads all major league relievers with 39 innings pitched.
--LF Jason Bay's seven-game hitting streak came to an end as he was 0-for-3. It was a rare bad game for Bay at Great American Ball Park, as he has hit .371 with 13 home runs in 143 career at-bats there. --1B Adam LaRoche's six-game hitting streak ended as he was 0-for-3. LaRoche, though, is hitting .286 with eight doubles, five home runs and 19 RBIs in May after batting just .174 with three doubles, one homer and five RBIs in the first month of the season.
--LHP Sean Burnett gave up one run in one inning of relief as he continues to be inconsistent. He has been scored on in four of his eight appearances since being called up from Class AAA Indianapolis.
--LHP Phil Dumatrait will make his first career start against Cincinnati on Thursday. The Reds lost Dumatrait to the Pirates on a waiver claim last October. He made his major league debut with the Reds last season and was dreadful in six starts, going 0-4 with and a 15.00 ERA.
BY THE NUMBERS: 2 -- Career walk-off hits by LF Jason Bay, and they both came on extra-inning singles in the span of less than 24 hours on May 24 and May 25 against the Chicago Cubs.
