"They've got our number," Snell said. "They're a good team."
The Pirates will get another shot at the Brewers next week when Milwaukee visits Pittsburgh for a two-game series beginning Monday. It could get interesting, as Snell fired some salvos back at Brewers left fielder Ryan Braun, who was upset about Pirates right-hander Jeff Karstens hitting him with a pitch in Monday night's game after Braun homered in his previous at-bat.
"You shouldn't say stuff like he said," said Snell, who struck out Braun three times. "You should just keep your mouth shut because it might come back to bite you in the butt."
Braun said after Monday's game to "tell Mr. Selig, we'll see what happens. It's going to be interesting."
Snell is scheduled to face the Brewers in the finale of the two-game series.
BREWERS 1, PIRATES 0: The Pirates were limited to two hits by Yovani Gallardo and Carlos Villanueva, doubles by Andy LaRoche and Robinzon Diaz, as they were swept in the three-game series. Ian Snell (1-3) was the hard-luck loser, as he gave up only one run -- on a Gallardo homer -- and five hits in seven innings with four walks and five strikeouts.
