 The Pirates hired Bill Lajoie, who has spent 55 years in Major League Baseball, as a senior adviser to general manager Neal Huntington. Lajoie has been a player, coach, scout, front office adviser and general manager. He has worked for the Cincinnati Reds, Detroit Tigers, Boston Red Sox, Milwaukee Brewers and Atlanta Braves. The past three years, Lajoie was a senior adviser for the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Pirates brought in Lajoie to advise Huntington on player acquisitions, scouting, roster moves and trades.
