In this soggy spring, Cinnaminson unbelievably has not been rained out, getting in nine games plus all six preseason contests. More remarkable is the way the Pirates have been playing, with yesterday's 6-4 win over visiting Delran the latest example.By beating their rivals, Cinnaminson improved to 6-3 overall and 4-0 in the Burlington County League Patriot Division. Defending champion Delran fell to 4-2, 2-1.Cinnaminson exacted a measure of revenge against Delran righthander Jim Goodwin, who twice shut out the Pirates last year."We know that he throws a lot of strikes and doesn't walk anybody," said junior catcher Matt Cann, who went 3 for 3 with a double and an RBI. "So we came out swinging."A senior, Goodwin struck out two and didn't walk a batter. He has struck out 21 while walking none."He didn't walk anybody, but his location wasn't where he would like it," said Delran coach Rich Bender, whose team stranded 11 runners. "To his credit, he still battled."After Delran bunched six hits for four runs in the fourth inning to take a 4-3 lead, Cinnaminson came back with two in the bottom of the inning to take the lead for good.Junior righthander Trevor Sotell earned the win, pitching six innings, while righthander Dan Giosa earned the save with a scoreless seventh.Delran 000 400 0 - 4 10 0Cinnaminson 120 210 x - 6 10 1WP: Trevor Sotell.
